FILMMAKER
HENRY WURTZ
The first images for A Liminal Space came to Henry back in 2019, envisioning a life-size cube structure with a dirt floor and removable walls. The concept grew over the course of the next few years, culminating in the production of this dance film with SDC.
Henry and choreographer Bruno Roque previously worked together on Bruno's The Space Between Us for SDC's Continuum program in 2020, as well as on a music video project for the band Fretland.

liminal (adjective): relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process; occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold
With original concept by Henry Wurtz and signature choreography by Bruno Roque, A Liminal Space draws us into a sensory journey, challenging the audience to consider how times of discomfort and trepidation can lead to moments of freedom and discovery. An 8’ dynamic cube serves as the film’s central set piece through which two dancers transcend multiple environments. Original music by Fabian ReimAir provides a moving backdrop.
